Expectations vs Reality

The people who knows me well knows that I am straight forward. So, today I am going to talk about clients' expectations and reality without dressing it up.

Miracles are not gonna to happen

I told a few times earlier that we have to look after ourselves constantly. Our ageing process is constant, we ageing every minute - sorry, but it is true.

Some people think they will come for a single treatment and miracle happens, they will look 15 or even 20 years younger. Nooop, miracles do not happen. We can slow down ageing, we can sort some problems out, temporary give a rid of wrinkles... etc.. But we can do it if we have a treatment plan and look after ourselves every day and see our beautician/aesthetician at least once a month for facials. We have to book an appointments for some treatments to solve some problems, which bother us.

One appointment a year or two is just waste of time and money. Of course it is better than nothing, but definitely not enough. Just imagine driving a car for 30, 40 or 50 years without servicing. If we have not looked after our skin until 40 or 50 thinking we looked good and it was too early...it might be a bit too late, or need much more effort when our skin starts sagging or wrinkles start bothering us It is much harder to treat it and get the desired results than start looking and maintaining skin from the youth

Another thing is that every treatment makes a temporary improvement. Some results last for 3-6 months, more expensive might last up to 2 years, but anyway it is temporary result and treatments needs to be done again and again. So, my advise is to start earlier with some not so drastic or invasive procedures. I highly recommend 3 point facial monthly or at least dermaplaning or chemical peel every 4-5 weeks. If we need to sort out some problems, need to arrange a treatment plan, but anyway facials are essential.

I can't see any difference.

Soooo. What difference do clients want to see after a single treatment?

I very often explain to client what is the reason of the treatment and how it works, what to expect BUT everyone is different and outcome is different. One and the same treatment for two friends can give totally different results. One of them can see improvement even after the first treatment, while the second might not see an improvement even after 5th This depends on clients' expectations.

As well, some treatments like facials or even dermal fillers give visible results straight after the treatment. Some, like anti-wrinkle injections, starts "working" in 5 days and the final result will be seen in 2 weeks. PDO mono threads need from 2 up to 4 month to built the collagen and tighten the skin, but result lasts up to 2 years. Some procedures like PRP Vampire Facial needs to be repeated for 4-6 times once monthly to reach the desire result and after that the result last up to a year. Always talk to Aesthetician how many procedures required, when the result might be seen and how long it will last for. Of course it might be only guide as everyone is different.

Being 65 can't look like 18.

Yes, I know some of you would try to dispute this as plastic surgeon might do lots nowadays, but... Is it necessary? We don't want to look over done, not natural, or silly, do we? It is really nice to get compliments that we look much younger and when we say much, we think about 10-15 years, not 35 . We have to be realistic.

I will repeat one more time - if we treat only one problem, for example having anti-wrinkle injections, it does not stop rest of the skin ageing We need facials.

Would like, but can't afford

Most of time it is related to the priorities in life. 4-5 cups of coffee, or 10 cigarettes a day, or lots of junk snacks, or overloaded wardrobe of clothing, half of them still with labels and we still keep exploring the Internet shopping sites, and new parcels coming every day...

It is everything about priorities...

But at Dragonfly Beauty and Aesthetics Limited we have payment by installment plan to help paying for treatments if somebody really struggling.
