Hyaluronic acid
Well... Let’s talk about hyaluronic acid.
Today I had a conversation with my lovely client Daiva. She told me the story how she went to one well known clinic in Doncaster and asked for hyaluronic. The aesthetician injected hyaluronic in 5 points on both cheeks, and she had two treatments 1 month apart, spent over £400 and can hardly see the result Neither she, neither her daughter understand what they injected her with...
I know!!! They injected hyaluronic acid
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid — also known as hyaluronan or hyaluronate — is a gooey, slippery substance that your body produces naturally. Scientists have found hyaluronic acid throughout the body, especially in eyes, joints, and skin.
It makes your skin flexible. Hyaluronic acid helps skin stretch and flex and reduces skin wrinkles and lines. Hyaluronic acid is also proven to help wounds heal faster and can reduce scarring. That are reasons why the acid is widely used in beauty market.
But let go back to the story... what the aesthetician injected?
To understand why Daiva did not see any difference after the injections, we must understand the difference between skin boosters and derma fillers.
The key difference between skin boosters and dermal fillers is that skin booster's function is to restore hydration and moisture, not volume. Furthermore, skin boosters differ from dermal fillers due to their thinner consistency – hence their inability to add volume like a regular dermal filler. So, Daiva wanted to restore lost volume! To restore volume, we must use fillers, not boosters. Skin boosters feed our skin, moisturises from inside out without adding volume. They are used to make skin glow, look more youthful, and hydrated. Daiva expected the injections, which she spent over £400 for, restore the lost volume. So, after the aesthetician injected her boosters and she got a different result then she wanted, she thinks that she threw the money away She admitted that her skin tone and colour have improved, but it was not what she wanted.
What to do to avoid disappointment? You should tell your beautician / aesthetician your concerns and desired result and we will tell you what the best solution is to deal with it and how the get the best desired result.
